Discovery Kids Academy is a curriculum-based childcare center. Our focus is child development at every level not just watching kids play but intentional play. We have a proprietary curriculum that is teacher-prepared and student-tested. We educate the whole child to prepare them for success when they reach school-age.

Discovery Kids Academy is a 7,800 sq ft facility located on a three (3) acre property that borders St. George, Ivins and Santa Clara, Utah. We have two "wings", one for littles and one for the big kids. There are twelve (12) spacious classrooms, each with its own convenient bathroom. We have a sizable, extensive library, a music room, a commercial kitchen with lunchroom as well as an expansive common area for multi-purpose use like parties, age-appropriate movies, snacking, etc. Unique to our facility is a fitness/ball pit that is a HUGE hit!

Discovery Kids Academy offers daily activities that assist in developing Fine Motor Skills, Pretend Play, Language, Gross Motor, and Creative/Sensory. Caregivers adhere to a defined schedule which includes reading to the kids, Discovery and Exploration, snacks and rest/nap time. Intentional play is a big part of our curriculum. Additionally, the Littles enjoy their own playground with age-appropriate toys. A multiple-child stroller (4) allows for even the littlest to enjoy time outside. Diapers are checked before and after rest/nap time, every two hours and as needed.

Three and four year-olds enjoy a full curriculum in preparation for school. Our extensive library has hundreds of books geared toward these kids. Reading is our thing. We assess each child based on four reading concepts; Literacy, Language, Communication and Comprehension. Each Pre-school classroom has age-appropriate toys and adheres to a defined schedule to keep kids engaged and learning while having plenty of fun. Healthy snacks are provided throughout the day in addition to meal-time. Pre-schoolers play on the "Bigs" playground where there is a hard-surfaced track for trikes and scooters and a play structure with safe rubber chips. We also have an artificial turf area for lounging around and ball play. A six-foot chain link fence with keypad security keeps our kids safe. This is a really fun playground! Discovery Kids Academy has a one-acre Nature Trail designed to help kids understand and appreciate our local natural environment.

Discovery Kids Academy offers a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) for kids who show a propensity toward those interests. One of our classrooms is designated as a supervised Study Hall (with teacher assistance) set aside for kids who need to complete homework after school and before pick-up so they can enjoy the afternoon or evening with family. The bigger kids enjoy a large supervised playground separate from the Littles that includes a play structure on safe rubber chips, a turf area and a hard-surface play area for basketball, tetherball, four square, hopscotch and more. The playground is secured with 6-foot chain-link fencing and keypad security to keep our kids safe and secure. The big kids can also relax in our spacious multi-purpose area and socialize with other kids their age before and after school while enjoying healthy snacks. Electives for the Bigs include: Dance, Musical Theater, Yoga, Sports, Chess, Choir, and Special Guests.
